16th-Century Cebu hero Datu Dagami to be honored in Bahag and Talent Showcase

Cebuano bravery and precolonial heroism will take center stage at The Search for Warrior Dagami 2026” happening this Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.

The event will honor Chief Dagami, the chieftain of Gabi—now known as Cordova, Cebu—who valiantly led the Cebu Revolt against Spanish colonizers from 1565 to 1567.

This weekend’s celebration will take place at the Hardin Dagami Roofdeck Bar of Palm Grass The Cebu Heritage Hotel.

The search will aim to remind today’s generation of the fierce determination for freedom inherent in Cebu’s ancestral heritage.

Contestants will embody Dagami’s historical strength, courage, and leadership to prove that the modern Cebuano warrior spirit remains alive.

Candidates will compete for the title while showcasing their talents and cultural pride in traditional bahag attire.
