[gab] explores restless love in “Melatonin”

Up-and-coming rock band [gab] delves into the sleepless nights and emotional uncertainty of love in its latest single, “ Melatonin,” a song about the kind of relationship that keeps a person awake long after the world has gone quiet.

The band is composed of Gab Tagadtad on vocals and guitar, Glenn Calingasan on bass, Angelo Zipagan on guitars, and Myk Fresco on drums. The Manila-based band started in 2022, balancing nostalgic Filipino rock with a fresh, contemporary edge.

Their alternative-rock single, “Melatonin,” captures the turmoil of late-night overthinking, as jealousy, unanswered questions, and lingering doubts begin to cloud a relationship. It was written by Gab, produced by Angelo, and released under ABS-CBN’s StarPop label.

Inspired by iconic Filipino rock acts such as Eraserheads, Mayonnaise, and Rico Blanco, [gab] blends catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and raw rock energy to capture the highs and lows of everyday life in their songs.

Last year, they released the songs “CIUDAD,” “Kababata,” “Lakampake,” and ‘Pauwi Na Ako.”
